# Creating a Change Media Task

## Creating a Change Media Task

1. Select **Tasks** on the navigation bar to open the **Tasks** menu.
2. Select the **+Task** Button**![](https://cdn.document360.io/86c4dfb2-4202-4f4a-97e1-d24441ae8c90/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%202026-05-18%20at%2010.24.02%E2%80%AFAM.png) **Step 1** **Name your Task:** Enter a title for your Task in the Task Name field. This allows you to keep your tasks organized and easily accessible. ![](https://cdn.document360.io/86c4dfb2-4202-4f4a-97e1-d24441ae8c90/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%202026-05-18%20at%2012.01.16%E2%80%AFPM(1).png) **Step 2** **Select a Task type:** Select Media Change. Media change will replace the currently playing content and replace the currently playing content on the display(s). ![](https://cdn.document360.io/86c4dfb2-4202-4f4a-97e1-d24441ae8c90/Images/Documentation/Screenshot%202026-05-18%20at%2012.07.40%E2%80%AFPM(1).png) After you select a media item to play, it will be displayed under Media to Play in list view and Media Change in the details drawer of the task created. **Step 3** **Select Media:** Select a media you want to play. Click on the select button and media picker will let you select content, programs, playlist or a collection to replace or override the current media. Select a media you want to play. Click on the select button and pick the media or resource in beam. 3. Remember, when you run a Change Media task, Beam will finish playing any currently playing media before changing to your selected media.  
  
**Note**: Labels are only available for Pro and Enterprise customers.
4. When your task is configured the way you want it, select **Create** to simply create the task OR **Create And Run** to not just creation and the task assigned to the display(s) will Run on the designated display(s).  
Before you hit Run or create you can still go back and make changes to the Tasks. Tasks can also be edited after you create it.

5. You now have created a new task. You can edit and update your task and Run it if you haven't already.
