# Tips for Success

#### **Match orientation to displays:**

Always choose portrait layouts for portrait displays and landscape for landscape displays.

#### **Start simple:**

Build a basic collection first, test it, then add complexity.

#### **Use descriptive names:**

Name collections, layout entries, and playlists clearly so others can understand your structure.

#### **Organize playlists separately:**

Create and test playlists independently before adding them to collection zones.

#### **Think about duration:**

Consider content length in each zone and use lead zones to control timing.

#### **Use lead zones with multiple entries:**

When you have multiple collection entries, lead zones ensure each entry fully completes before advancing.

#### **Leverage playlists in zones:**

Instead of duplicating content across many layouts, use one layout with a playlist in a zone.

#### **Test on actual displays:**

Set up a test device to see exactly how content will play before rolling out to all screens.

#### **Document your structure:** If building complex collections, document which zones contain what and why, especially for team handoffs.

#### **Leverage Custom Recurrence:**

Use RRules for complex scheduling patterns like "first Monday of the month" or "every weekday except holidays."
