# Collections & Layouts Key Terms

| Term | Definition |
| --- | --- |
| #### **Collection** | A container that holds one or more layout entries with play rules and scheduling capabilities. |
| #### **Collection Entry** | An individual layout within a collection. Each entry can have its own layout configuration, content, lead zone, and play rules. |
| #### **Layout** | The visual arrangement of content zones (single pane, two pane, etc.) within a collection entry. |
| #### **Zone** | An individual content area within a layout where you place content items, playlists, or programs. |
| #### **Lead Zone** | The designated zone within a layout entry that controls when the collection advances to the next entry. Only one zone per entry can be the lead zone. |
| #### **Play Rules** | Filters that determine when content is eligible to display based on date, time, recurrence patterns, or display labels. |
| #### **RRules (Recurrence Rules)** | Advanced scheduling patterns that allow for complex, repeating schedules (e.g., "every first Monday" or "weekdays only"). |
