What are Device Commands?

Skykit Control Console's Device Commands allow you to remotely diagnose, troubleshoot, and control certain functions of the Skykit Player and Chrome device from anywhere in the world. This gives you the power to manage your digital signage network without needing to call the IT department each time an issue comes up.

What Device Commands Can I Send to My Devices?

Diagnostics: Sends a command to the player to show or hide the diagnostic screen.

Update Device: Sends a command to the player to update a device's settings, such as orientation.

Update Content: Sends a command to the player to check for new content changes.

Restart: Sends a command to restart the Chrome Device.

Post Log: Sends a command to the player to post additional, advanced logs to monitor the device's status.

Reset Player: Sends a command to the player to wipe its provisioning data such as Device Key, API Key, CDM Registration ID, and Pairing Code.

Reset Content: Sends a command to the player to remove all cached content from storage.

Panel On/Off: Sends a command to the player to turn the connected display panel on or off depending on its current state. Requires RS-232 support.

Volume: Sends a command to the player to change the Chrome Device's output volume.

Custom: Allows you to send custom commands to the player. The Skykit Support Team uses these for advanced troubleshooting.
