# Why can't I save overnight Play Rules?

When setting up an Add a Start Time / End Time Play Rule in a Playlist or Collection, Skykit does not currently support selecting a time period that spans multiple days (ex: 10:00 p.m. - 6:00 a.m.)

![Input fields for adding start and end times in a scheduling interface.](https://cdn.document360.io/86c4dfb2-4202-4f4a-97e1-d24441ae8c90/Images/Documentation/Screenshot 2026-07-09 at 4.05.12 PM.png)

If you attempt to save such a time period, you will see an error message reading “Failed to update Entry.”

As a workaround, you can achieve the same goal with multiple Playlist or Collection entries. To do this:

1. Add your first entry
2. Set the Play Rule for 10:00 p.m. - 11:59 p.m.
3. Add a second entry with the same content
4. Set that entry’s Play Rule for 12:00 a.m. - 6:00 a.m.
