# Why does my device have different timezones in Beam and Control?

Skykit devices run two independent applications, Skykit Control and Skykit Player. Each app has its own timezone. While these timezones generally match, if you are seeing actions happen in a different timezone than expected, you should confirm that both Control and Beam are set to the correct timezone.

The timezone set in Control on the [Status tab](/v1/docs/status-tab) determines the timezone used for operations set up in the Control UI such as scheduled reboots.

The timezone set in Beam on the [Display detail page](/v1/docs/displays-manager-overview) determines the timezone used Beam features, specifically [Collections Play Rules](/v1/docs/managing-a-collection-in-skykit-beam) and [Playlists Play Rules](/v1/docs/managing-playlists-in-skykit-beam).
