Microsoft PowerPoint Auto-Publish
Overview
This page will cover the instructions to configure and enable the auto-publish feature when importing Microsoft PowerPoint from Microsoft OneDrive.
Auto-publish automatically syncs changes from PowerPoint files in OneDrive to Skykit nightly, offering two key advantages:
PowerPoint editors can sync edits without signing into Skykit
Team members who only edit PowerPoint files don't need Skykit login credentials
Prerequisites
You must have the Microsoft 365 Business (Standard or Enterprise) license
Enabling Auto-Publish requires you to have Microsoft tenant admin permissions
You can only enable the Auto-Publish feature for Microsoft PowerPoint files you’re importing from Microsoft OneDrive.
Please make sure you’re the owner of any files that you wish to you use Auto-Publish with.
Note on Shared Files
Auto-Publish is not supported with files that are shared with you.
Definitions
Microsoft Tenant:
A Microsoft Tenant is your organization's private space in Microsoft 365. It includes your users, settings, and services, allowing you to manage access, security, and apps in one place.
Admin Consent:
A Microsoft security feature that requires an administrator to grant permission for an application to access protected resources on behalf of users or in this case a Microsoft Tenant, ensuring that sensitive data and operations are only accessible to trusted applications.
Understanding Auto-Publish Permission Requirements
Auto-Publish requires two specific permission levels in your Microsoft environment:
Tenant-Level Admin Consent
Authorizes the Skykit application within your Microsoft tenant, doesn’t grant access to all files, but provides the ability leverage files for auto-publish. When auto-publish is enabled, an additional consent needs to be granted by the user.
File-Level Access
Grants Skykit read access to specific files only when the user is present to authorize the connection, enabling the application to sync designated PowerPoint files from OneDrive.
Importing a Microsoft PowerPoint file into Skykit Beam
Reminder: Enable pop-ups for Skykit Beam in your browser settings, as they are required to complete several steps in this process.
Navigate to the Content page.
Click the +Content button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
In the menu, select the Import option.
Select the Microsoft OneDrive option
You may need to log into Microsoft at this point.
Reminder: Sign in with your Microsoft 365 Business administrator account—the account where you have Microsoft tenant admin privileges.
Select a PowerPoint file you’d like to import into Skykit Beam
Enable Auto-Publish Setting
Navigate to the detail page of the PowerPoint file you just imported.
In the upper right corner, click on the Gear icon
Scroll down to the Auto-Publish section and click on the button that says Request Admin Consent
A pop-up message will appear requesting admin consent from your Microsoft tenant. Click the Continue button to proceed.
At this point you will have to log into Microsoft again.
Reminder: Sign in with your Microsoft 365 Business administrator account—the account where you have Microsoft tenant admin privileges.
Complete all of the prompts required by Microsoft
Note: During Microsoft Admin Consent, you may see a message about an unverified app. This is normal—Skykit will appear as verified once published to the Microsoft Enterprise App Store in the future.Click on the toggle to enable Auto-Publish
Before leaving this page, wait for the saving indicator to disappear, confirming that Auto-Publish changes have been successfully applied.

Ability to auto-publish for OneDrive PowerPoint resources in beam can be enabled only on request. Please contact our support team to enable this feature for your tenant.
