Microsoft PowerPoint Auto-Publish
Overview
This page will cover the instructions to configure and enable the auto-publish feature when importing Microsoft PowerPoint from Microsoft OneDrive.
Auto-publish automatically syncs changes from PowerPoint files in OneDrive to Skykit nightly, offering two key advantages:
PowerPoint editors can sync edits without signing into Skykit
Team members who only edit PowerPoint files don't need Skykit login credentials
Prerequisites
You must have the Microsoft 365 Business (Standard or Enterprise) license
Enabling Auto-Publish requires you to have Microsoft tenant admin permissions
You can only enable the Auto-Publish feature for Microsoft PowerPoint files you’re importing from Microsoft OneDrive.
Definitions
Microsoft Tenant:
A Microsoft Tenant is your organization's private space in Microsoft 365. It includes your users, settings, and services, allowing you to manage access, security, and apps in one place.
Admin Consent:
A Microsoft security feature that requires an administrator to grant permission for an application to access protected resources on behalf of users or in this case a Microsoft Tenant, ensuring that sensitive data and operations are only accessible to trusted applications.
Understanding Auto-Publish Permission Requirements
Auto-Publish requires two specific permission levels in your Microsoft environment:
Tenant-Level Admin Consent
Authorizes the Skykit application within your Microsoft tenant, but only affects files that have additional explicit permissions for auto-publish.
File-Level Access
Grants Skykit read/write access to specific files only when the user is present to authorize the connection, enabling the application to sync designated PowerPoint files from OneDrive.
