Common Wi-Fi Issues and Solutions
Connection Problems
Issue: Device Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi
Check Wi-Fi Network Availability
Verify your network is functioning by testing with another device
Ensure you're within range of your Wi-Fi router
Check if your router is powered on and functioning properly
Verify Network Credentials
Confirm you're using the correct network name (SSID)
Double-check password accuracy (case-sensitive)
Try connecting to a different network if available
Review your device’s Wi-Fi settings by following our Updating Wi-Fi Settings Guide
Network Restrictions
Some networks have MAC address filtering (contact your IT department)
Public networks may require browser authentication that Skykit devices can't support
Enterprise networks might require additional security certificates
Intermittent Connectivity
Issue: Device Connects But Frequently Disconnects
Signal Strength Problems
Move the device closer to the router if possible
Remove physical obstacles between the device and router
Check for certain types of material that cause poor signal strength between the device and the router such as metal objects and concrete walls
Consider installing a Wi-Fi extender for better coverage
Network Congestion
Too many devices on one network can cause connectivity issues
Try connecting during off-peak hours
Consider setting up a dedicated network for your Skykit devices
Router Issues
Restart your router (unplug for 30 seconds, then plug back in)
Update your router firmware to the latest version
Check for interference from other electronic devices
Best Practices for Optimal Wi-Fi Performance
Network Setup
Place Skykit devices within 30 feet of your Wi-Fi router when possible
Use 5GHz networks for faster speeds (when available and within range)
Consider dedicated networks for digital signage to prevent bandwidth competition
Ensure your router supports the latest Wi-Fi security protocols
Regular Maintenance
Periodically restart both your Skykit device and Wi-Fi router
Keep your router firmware updated
Check for physical obstructions that might be blocking signal
Monitor for new devices that might cause interference
Network Security
Use strong passwords for your Wi-Fi network
Avoid using open/unsecured networks for Skykit devices
Update network credentials whenever they change
