Device Default Credentials

What are Device Default Credentials?

The Default Display Credential feature allows users to associate credentials with a Display rather than a Dashboard Content item. This is particularly useful when a dashboard restricts authentication to a single session per account. Instead of sharing one account across multiple devices, each Display can use its own unique credentials while playing the same Dashboard Content item.

If no credentials are explicitly set for a Display, Skykit will automatically default to the credentials assigned at the Dashboard Content level, ensuring seamless authentication.

Note: This feature is not a default configuration on dashboard and hence only available on request. Please contact support@skykit.com to enable this feature for your Account or Tenant.

Key Points Before You Start

When setting up display credentials, you will need to create the credentials in Credential Management, select the default credentials for the Display, and configure the Dashboard content time to use default dashboard credentials

At the dashboard content level, you may either create new credentials for your dashboard content or select existing ones. Regardless of whether you are creating new credentials or using existing ones, you must enable the option (by checking a checkbox) that allows the dashboard content to utilize the credentials set at the display level. This ensures that Skykit prioritizes the display-level credentials when playing your dashboard content.
