This article provides you with the steps you need to complete to get your new SKP3 Media Player up and running.
Hardware and Tools
What's in the box:
- 1 SKP3
- 1 remote
- 2 AAA batteries (for the remote)
- Power adapter
- HDMI cable
- Double-sided velcro
What you need:
- Display monitor with an HDMI port
- Internet connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet)
- Ethernet cable (if you're connecting via Ethernet)
Device Setup
Step 1 - Connect HDMI cable
Connect your Skykit Media Player to the display using the HDMI cable.
Step 2 - Connect power cable
Connect your Skykit Media Player to power using the power adapter.
Step 3 - Connect to the Internet
When your device has powered on, use the remote and follow the onscreen prompts to connect to an available Wi-Fi network. You can also use a mouse or a keyboard as a replacement for the remote.
Step 4 - Software updates
Once you have connected your device to the Internet, it will check for any software updates.
Step 5 - Pair your device
After your device has updated, a Pairing Code is displayed on the screen. You will need this code to pair your device with Skykit Beam. See Pairing a Display in Skykit Beam for instructions.
Step 6 - Display content
Go to beam.skykit.com and log in. Once you have logged in, select Displays from the navigation bar to see your device(s). Select the display you want to update to open the Displays detail window and then select the Change button to choose the content you would like to display.
Displays often have HDMI CEC connection turned on by default which can cause the SKP3 to go into sleep mode (displays red light) when you turn the TV off. HDMI CEC then does not send a command to the SKP3 when the TV turns back on. If you plan to turn off the display frequently, you will want to turn off HDMI CEC in your display settings.
