When a device is first paired or moved to a Tenant, it will begin playing that Tenant’s Default Content.
Be Cautious When Moving Devices!
If an online device is moved from one tenant to another, it will immediately begin playing Default Content. If your device is in a visible place, be sure you’re ready to change content on the device if needed.
If your device is offline at the time of the move, it will continue playing cached content from its previous tenant until it comes back online.
Default Content is automatically created when a Tenant is created. Tenants created prior to March 2026 have a Default Program, and Tenants created after March 2026 have a Default Playlist. Whether you have a Program or Playlist set as default, it will be populated with an image with instructions to get started in Beam.

Can I Change my Default Content?
Yes! If you would like to change what automatically appears on the screen when a device is first paired or moved to your Tenant, simply open the Default Program or Default Playlist in Beam and edit to include whatever content you would like to appear on the screen.
If you would like to assign a completely different Program, Playlist, or Collection to play instead of the standard Default Program or Default Playlist, contact our support team at support@skykit.com.
What if I Deleted My Default Content?
If you delete your Default Program or Default Playlist, the behavior on your Display will be to show a loading screen until content is changed to something else in Beam. If you would like to assign something else to be your Tenant’s Default Content, contact Skykit support for help.
