Your Skykit media player frequently receives updates its Android apps behind the scenes to keep your device running smoothly with the latest features.
However, if your device has been offline for an extended period or you need to force an update for troubleshooting, you can easily do it yourself. Follow the steps below to manually check for and install app updates.
Updating Apps in Skykit Control
If you have access to Skykit Control, this is the quickest and easiest way to update apps.
Device Detail Page
Navigate to the Apps Tab on the device detail page and click the Update All Apps button.
Bulk Actions
If you need to update apps on multiple devices, use the Bulk Actions feature to send an Update All Apps command to selected devices.
Updating Apps on Your Physical Device
If you are unable to access Skykit Control but have access to the physical device, use this method to update apps.
Note: You will need the remote that came with your Skykit device (if applicable) or a USB mouse or keyboard plugged into the device
Reboot the device, either via Beam or by unplugging the device
On the loading screen, if there is an app update available and the device is online, a gear icon will appear on the bottom left of the screen
Using your remote, mouse, or keyboard, click the gear icon to trigger an app update
