Setting an App as the Kiosk App on your Skykit Display

Skykit devices operate in a dedicated kiosk mode that runs the default Skykit Player app. However, you have the flexibility to replace this by uploading your own custom APK to serve as the primary kiosk app.

After uploading and installing a custom app on your device, you can then update the kiosk app in Skykit Control.

Updating the Kiosk App for a Single Device

  1. In Skykit Control, click on your desired device

  2. Click on the Apps tab

  3. Copy the name of your uploaded app (i.e. com.skykit.control)

  4. Click on the Status tab

  5. Enter the name you copied in step #3 into the field Kiosk Application

  6. Click Save Configuration

Updating the Kiosk App in Bulk

  1. In Skykit Control, click on your desired device

  2. Click on the Apps tab

  3. Copy the name of your uploaded app (i.e. com.skykit.control)

  4. Navigate to the Devices list view page

  5. Check the boxes next to your desired devices

  6. Click Bulk Actions

  7. Settings and Configurations

  8. Kiosk Application

  9. Enter the name of your application you copied in step #3

  10. Click update
