What's the difference between Enterprise Content Integration and the App SDK?
They work in opposite directions. With Enterprise Content Integration, your system supplies the content and Skykit plays it. With the App SDK, your app runs on the screen and pulls content from Beam when it needs it. In short: ECI is your content in our experience; the App SDK is our content in your experience.
Can we use both?
Yes. Some customers use ECI to bring in data from their systems and the App SDK to run an interactive app on other screens.
We already show dashboards on our screens. Is that the same thing?
No. Dashboard Connections show a live BI dashboard, such as Power BI, on a screen, and you set them up yourself in Beam. ECI is for systems beyond a dashboard, like a POS, a menu system or your own software.
Do we need developers?
For ECI, someone builds the connection to Skykit's integration specification. That can be your team or your software provider. For the App SDK, someone connects your app once; your developers, an agency or Skykit can do it. Day-to-day content updates need no developer.
What happens if the network drops?
Skykit caches media on the player to keep playback going through network interruptions. How each integration behaves offline is designed during setup.
Is Enterprise Content Integration a plug-and-play connector?
No. It uses a standard, repeatable approach, but each integration is scoped around your system in a discovery session.
Is the App SDK available now?
It's in early access with a small group of customers. Contact your account manager to find out if it fits.
How do we get started?
Contact your account manager or Skykit Support. We'll start with a short conversation about your system or app.
